Golf Course Reviews: New York Golf Courses
Filed Under golf courses | Comments Off
Vikram kuamr asked:
If you live in the New York, there are many golf courses you can choose from to go enjoy your day. Some of these New York golf courses are very, very good. Others have had a difficult time making the grade. So, how do you know which of the New York golf courses are best for you?
There are a couple of ways to find out. You can go to the golf course, pay your fees, play your game and determine by the end if the course was worth it or not. Another way is to get online and go to The Local Golfer. This is a great site for golfers of all levels to find out about a golf course before you spend the time and money to realize you didn’t like it.
This site is full of great golf course reviews for the public golfer. These reviews are by other public golfers and offer a forum for their fair and honest review of some of the Mid-Atlantic golf courses. There is also a database that contains all public golf courses in several Mid-Atlantic states. This alone can be a terrific tool if you are traveling out of your normal playing area.
If you want to play golf, but don’t want to waste your money at one of the New York Golf Courses that isn’t worth your time, this is a great way to learn about the conditions of the course. These online golf course reviews will let you know what others golfers think about a certain public course. You can also leave your own reviews, so others can see what you think about the courses in your area.
You will also find a great forum for golfers and a blog that is updated often. The blog speaks to the current events in the golf world and offers insights to some of the major news stories that occur. There is also a section dedicated to items for sale.
If you are looking for New York Golf Courses, this is simply the place to find great information. Right now, one of the top rated courses in New York is Eisenhower Park Golf Course of Nassau County. One of the reviews that was posted advises to “Play smart out of the rough or you will shoot a very high number.” It’s advice like this that can really help your score by the time you finish the 18th hole.
You will also find all of the contact information on every public golf course in New York. Some of the listings even have the green fees and the cart fees listed. But if not, the Pro Shop is listed for you to acquire that information.
There are many golf course reviews you can find on the internet; however, you’ll be hard pressed to find one that is complete as The Local Golfer. This site really is a step above the rest and you will be pleasantly surprised when you browse through it.
It’s time to gather some information before you spend your hard earned money on one of the New York Golf Courses that simply isn’t worth it. You can find it here; but you’ll also find a lot of other good information.

With the world’s finest golfers flocking to Scotland for the British Open, the great golf courses in the U.S. are freed up for you to enjoy. Check out our top searched list of golf courses and see if your favorite made the list.
Top Searched Golf Courses on AOL Search:
1. Blue Monster Golf Course — FL
2. Turnberry Golf Course — Scotland
3. St. Johnsbury Golf Course — VT
4. Congressional Golf Course — MD
5. Bethpage Golf Course — NY
6. Stonewall Golf Course — VA
7. Arrowhead Golf Course — CO
8. Rutgers Golf Course — NJ
9. Pine Hills Golf Course — MA
10. Ironwood Golf Course — WI
Defending champion Padraig Harrington is trying to become the first player to win three consecutive British Opens since the 50s. I hope the competition, which begins Thursday and ends Sunday, doesn’t distract him from the beautiful sites of Turnberry Golf Course, where they are playing. The second most searched golf resort on our list, and the only international one, is situated on the coast of Scotland with a beautiful light house and 5-star hotel.
Golfing can be an expensive hobby. A round of golf at the Blue Monster Championship Course (number 1) can run you upwards of $300. Tack on to that the price of golf clubs and golf balls and you are looking at spending big bucks on a day of golfing. Thankfully, there are still some golf courses that maintain the splendor of the sport without breaking the bank. Pine Hills Golf Course, number 9, was created to rival the country’s most prestigious golf clubs, but they only charge a daily fee to golf.
The forecast looks like we’re teeing up for some great golfing weather this weekend. Where do you go to hit the links? Find a golf course near you by searching on AOL Search.

Who most likely pays for damage to a golf cart in an accident on the course?

The Legend asked:
Okay, so I hit a tree. It truly was a freak accident. I just got a $500 bill. I understand it was my fault, and I’m prepared to pay, but I’m a little surprised that the course tells me they don’t file with their insurance under $2000, and I half expected them to just eat it as part of the cost of operating a golf course.

Who should pay? I’m prepared to hear that I should, but I’m just curious about people’s opinions.

Oklahoma City Golf Courses

Shane Wauhob asked:
The Oklahoma City golf courses range from tough ones to those ideal for beginners. They offer the perfect break for residents of the city and professionals otherwise caught in boardroom battles.
The Lake Hefner public golf course in Oklahoma City is one of the most beautiful among these. Located on the southern shore of Lake Hefner, it consists of two courses of 18 holes each with 50 obstacles on each of them. Earlywine Park features a public golf facility made up of two courses. Chipping and pitching facilities are offered. For practice, the course features a driving range along with four putting greens. One can also get a golf lesson from an expert here. A restaurant and a snack shop offer refreshments..
Trosper Park’s public golf facility is the one for beginners. It consists of 18 holes and features only four water hazards and seven traps. A driving range, putting green, chipping green and bunker are the practice facilities offered. A snack bar is also around. The Silverhorn Golf Club is a public course and quite beautiful, considering it’s located only a few minutes from downtown. The tough course satisfies the experts and helps amateurs sharpen their game. One of the obstacles here is the tall grass. The putting green and driving range are available for practice. A snack bar is also offered.
The Lincoln Park golf facility is located south of Remington Park. Each of its two 18-hole courses features thirty sand traps and five water hazards. Here too there is a restaurant and a snack shop..
OKC hotels offer the best of hospitality, catering to players after a long game at one of the Oklahoma City golf courses.

Golf Course Communities and other Developments

Tim Dillard asked:
Looking for a home is a difficult process, and it is hard to know if the home you are buying is truly up to the high standards that the home sellers are telling you. It can be difficult to find and fix small problems with the home until after you have moved in, and by then it is too late to change your mind. To avoid this process, it is best to take a look at custom homes in Atlanta, Georgia.
These homes are built to your own specification in places such as Cherokee County golf course communities. They are built from the choices you make to fit your needs exactly, and offer you everything that you and your family need. These homes are perfect for anyone, whether you are looking for the perfect place to raise children, or are just starting out, or even for people who are looking for a home in which they can retire. There is nothing like having a home built just for you.
Some of the best places to live are Georgia mountain communities around Atlanta. People enjoy the natural scenery, and that is only augmented in golf course communities, with nature trails throughout the gated communities and access to the best that nature has to offer. You may not think that you can get a great natural setting with a home in a busy location like Atlanta, but the custom homes here are built to order on land that is designed to showcase the local beauty of nature.
If you are interested in buying a home in one of these beautiful mountain communities, you should move fast. These communities are often master planned and built to move fast, with some of the best and most luxurious homes and neighborhoods in the entire Atlanta area. The communities are designed for the aesthetic pleasure and the convenience of the residents, and the homes are designed to be just the way you want them.
With golf courses in the community and shopping centers, as well, it is no wonder that these communities are some of the best places to live. There is nothing like a beautiful home in a beautiful neighborhood with all the amenities to bring people to a community and make them proud and pleased to call that community home.
You may think that living in one of the golf course communities may cost a pretty penny, but rest assured that these homes are actually more affordable than you may think. The population is growing quickly throughout the region and many of the custom homes are priced competitively.

The Different Types of Hazards on a Golf Course
Filed Under golf courses | Comments Off
Gen Wright asked:
A hazard on a golf course is an obstacle that hampers the shot of a golfer. When the ball lands in a hazard, certain restrictions and penalties may be enforced. Amateur golfers tend to find these shots harder due to these additional restrictions. So it is advisable to avoid these hazards as much as possible. There are three types of golf hazards.
Bunkers.
A bunker is an area where turf has been replaced with sand. If a ball is in a bunker, the golfer must play the ball where it lies if he does not want to incur a penalty stroke. In addition, the club may not be grounded, and the player cannot use his hands to feel the surface condition of the bunker.
There are three types of bunkers. Fairway bunkers are usually located by the sides of the fairway. On more difficult courses, these bunkers may even be in the middle. They are meant to collect shots that have failed to travel in the desired direction.
Greenside bunkers are located near and around the green. Likewise, they are meant to collect shots that fail to find its mark on the green.
Finally, there are waste bunkers. These are usually located near other natural hazards like a lake or river. They are also larger, and run along the fairway.
Water hazards.
A water hazard is a body of water on the course. This can be a river, lake, creek, ditch, or anything similar. If a ball is in a water hazard, the only way to avoid a penalty stroke is to play the ball where it lies. If this is not possible, a player has 2 choices. He can either play the ball from its original position, or drop the ball at any point along the ball’s flight path towards the hazard. Either one of these choices will mean the player has to incur a penalty stroke. A regular water hazard is marked with yellow stakes at the beginning and end of the hazard.
Lateral water hazards.
Red stakes at the beginning and end of a water hazard signify that it’s a lateral water hazard. These hazards are usually located beside the hole that is being played. Because of these locations, it is not practical for the player to drop the ball behind the hazards. If a ball is in a lateral hazard, the player has options similar to that of a regular water hazard. In addition, a player may also choose to drop a ball within two club lengths of where the ball entered the hazard, but not closer to the hole. For this option, the player is under one penalty stroke.
As you can see, if a ball enters a hazard, it is not easy to get it out of the hazard even if you choose to play the ball where it lies. Sometimes, it may be better to choose other options, even if it means you will be playing under one penalty stroke.
