Building Your Own Miniature Golf Course - What Apart From Money?
Filed Under golf courses | Comments Off
Not many kinds of sports have given the complete family so much of pleasure for so many years as the game of Golf. Golf is there to stay through the changing times and will always remain a popular sport. This is obviously something that if invested in, would pay of rich dividends, especially if you plan to build your own miniature Golf course. Playing Golf with the whole family is an excellent way in which parents and children and even grand parents could interact with each other in pleasant surroundings and get some exercise in too along with quality time spent together. It is a much healthier past time than watching television.
The cost of building a miniature Golf course
The initial part of starting to build a miniature Golf course is to ensure that you have enough funds set aside for this venture. You would require approximately $1.5 to $2.5 thousand, to make a basic golf course. The rest would depend on the kind design and the location where you want to build this. Another aspect would be the amenities and advantages that you will want to put on your golf course to make it more convenient for the golf players. All this would cost you extra money. Other than the financial aspect, there is nothing to stand in the way of your going ahead; as you can be assured that you will definitely make good returns in a short time.
The Golf Course design
The design depends on what you have in mind, you could either go for a course with 18 holes or you could have more than three courses to pick from. What has been given as the startup price would be for on course only. The advantage of building your own golf course, is that you do not require a large stretch of land for the putt- putt golf course, even an acre would do, and you could use any bit of land that is cheaper than the spots available in prime areas and convert it into a miniature golf course.
A major family entertainment
There are many benefits of the miniature golf course. It is the least expensive family outing as it will cost less than a whole family going to the movies. Miniature golf is a permanent draw for families for several reasons. An average round of Golf costs around $5, of course this depends in the area where you live. Playing golf allows people to socialize and meet many people and also gives them the much required exercise, which would not be there if this time was used to play video games or watch television, instead. You would never go out of business as Golf is going to remain a popular sport for ever.
Building a miniature golf Course will not require any additional expenditure later, except maintenance of the course. This would mean a well maintained course which is kept clean with a lot of lush green plants and of course, if there are moving parts, you would have to ensure that the mechanics are taken care of regularly

Why The Most Prestigious Golf Courses Are Painted By Only Acclaimed Golf Artists
Filed Under golf courses | Comments Off
world of golf art there are many options when deciding whom may best represent your golf clubs signature hole. And just like buying a watch - which all watches tell the time - only few are recognized as the best looking, which makes all the difference. So when it comes to commissioning a golf artist, compromising only comprimises the result. When signature holes are painted by acclaimed golf artists rest assured the prestige level just went up with your members and their respected guests.
Acclaimed artists are typically official artists for the most famous golf tournaments around the world. In addition, they have been acclaimed internationally for painting realistic paintings of the most prestigious golf courses such as St. Andrews, Kingsbarns, Turnberry, Carnoustie, Dubai Creek, Pine Valley China, Royal Melbourne, Royal Liverpool, Augusta, Valderrama and Pebble Beach to name just a few.
At times, you may feel that it is beyond your clubs budget to commission an original oil painting of your golf courses signature hole, that range from a mere $24,000 to $200,000. Art is an investment that is to be displayed in your club for the next 100 years and more, so it makes perfect sense to have the very best artsit to make that timeless impression. Here are just a few top golf courses of the world and what they chose to have painted.
Royal County Down
The 9th hole at Royal County Down is a masterpiece of the 9th fairway towards the Clubhouse with the Mountains of Mourne dominating the scene.
As you approach this terrific course, you’ll encounter rugged sand dunes covered in yellow gorse and purple heather. With a length of 7,000 yards from the back tees, it has the most memorable holes in the history of golf. Be prepared to face the wicked burrows in the small greens and a number of bunkers fringed with coarse grasses and blind drives that add a touch of eccentricity to the course. The fairways have become naturally undulating with the passing of time.
Enjoy the beauty of the magnificent Mountains of Mourne and the beauty of the Bay of Dundrum that reaches out to the Irish Sea. This classic links golf course, located in Newcastle in Northern Ireland, was designed by Old Tom Morris and was opened for play in 1889.
Cypress Point
The 15th hole at Cypress Point was chosen since it is highly regarded as one of the best golf holes in the world or the worst if the approach shot ends up in the Pacific Ocean!
Perhaps one of the most emotional experiences is challenging the diverse terrain at the cliffs edge. Located at Pebble Beach in California, it is considered as the best 17-hole course in the world. The gorgious Monterey Peninsula and the mountains of Santa Lucia are dramatic from the fairways of this course.
St. Andrews
St. Andrews Old Course usually looks flat on television, but when you reach on location, you’ll be surprised to see the depth of the humps, hollows, pot bunkers and the ripples on the fairways. Popularly known as the “Spiritual Home of Golf” and “Mother of Golf”, it is one of the oldest courses in the world, located in St. Andrews, Scotland.
Full of many memorable holes, the 17th hole (known as the Road Hole since it parallels the road) is perhaps the world’s most well-known hole in golf. As a first timer you may be disappointed with the course and be beaten up a little bit, but as you get to know this nature-made course better, slowly but surely you’ll fall in love with it. The gigantic greens, seemingly more than one acre in some areas, are the most remarkable and amazing ones for putting. The speed of the fairways and the detailed undulations are much faster than similar clubs.
Pebble Beach
The 5th, 8th and 18th holes have all been graced by Graeme’s brush and are displayed in the clubhouse. Situated besides the Pacific Ocean, Pebble Beach was designed by Chuck Dunbar and is a picturesque California golf course. If you can afford it, then Pebble Beach is a dream course for golfers around the world. Opened for play in 1919, this simple course is thrilling to play at. The beauty of the course is so distracting it often becomes difficult for players to keep their focus on the game.
As mentioned earlier, commissioning an artist to paint your clubs signature hole is very much like buying a watch - so choose your time piece wisley as well as your artist, since art is… timeless.

I own a par 3 course and would like suggestions on how it can make money in the winter. Our golf season is from late April until late October. What can we do in the winter to make a profit? We have plenty of land and a small clubhouse. Be creative.

Is it legal to drive a golf cart on a private course while intoxicated?
Filed Under golf courses | 1 Comment
I golf frequently at a private golf course near my house. They serve alcohol on the course (a snack cart drives around) and I sometimes see people bring their own flasks of liquor to the course. I often see people who are drunk driving the golf carts. Is it legal because it is on private property or could you get a DUI for that?
I live in Colorado.

I went golfing on a course today that was 6050 yards from tea to cup on each hole with a direct shot. I end up spending most of my time way out of the way of a direct shot so I walk a lot farther that that. then when you add in the walking between holes it really adds up. How many miles do you think it ends up being?
